The Research on Performance Appraisal of Employee for Housekeeping in Hotel

With economic globalization coming, and with continuous improvement of levels of hotel management and the management system for China, the scope of competition is expanding rapidly, and the unprecedented degree of competition increases. The performance management, as core of human resource management, has caused increasing attention from people; so the focus of human resource management begins to shift to employee performance management. The performance evaluation is playing an important part in performance management, as scientific measurement of employee behavior and procedures with methods of evaluation, performance appraisal has become chief parts in human resource management system of the modern hotels, it is extremely significant to raise management level of the hotel and nurture core competition of the hotel. The implementation of performance evaluation and the consideration of performance improvement is also an important guarantee for the achievement of developmental goals.Therefore, the purpose of this paper study is that: design system of staff performance appraisal for housekeeping in accordance with actual situation of the hotel by investigating the status quo of staff performance appraisal for Maple Leaf International Hotel, the thesis hopes to provide some theoretical and practical guidance to upgrade competitiveness of entire hotel housekeeping; it also hopes to provide reference for enhancement of staff performance in the other hotels for researching staff’s performance system through studying Maple Leaf International Hotel.In view of the purpose of this paper, it begins with describing research background of this article and research significance, then overviews some relevant literatures and briefly presents the meanings and common methods of performance evaluation, and points out polarization and the elements of performance evaluation. On this basis, it analyses a series of problems existing in housekeeping staff’s performance appraisal at large for Maple Leaf International Hotel, and then designs staff’s performance appraisal system meeting the features of hotel aiming to these problems. In order to guarantee effects of implementation for performance appraisal system, the paper brings forward some safeguards that implementation of the system should have.
