Objective To study the dynamic changes of S100B protein in acute cerebral infraction patient and investigate the clinical significance in the development of the disease. Methods Dynamic measuring serum concentration of S100B protein in patients with cerebral in fraction at different days,evaluating the association with neural functional deficit degree in admission,the sizes of cerebral infarction and types classified according to spot.Results The concentrations of S100B protein raised at the first day after stroke onset,and reach at the peak at third day.A part of them still to elevate at seventh day,significantly different from that in the control group respectively. Conclusions Increasing S100B protein concentrations indicate severe ischemic cerebral cell injury. S100B protein in serum can be used as a peripheral marker of brain infarction,and have a predictive value for outcome after acute infarction.Further studying it may be helpful for the rpeutic decisions in acute cerebral infarction.
