Design and implementation of real-time video image processing system based on DSP

As the development of Image Processing technology, the application of Image Processing System has infiltrated into many important fields which are relative to the national economy and the people’s livelihood. But at the same time, because the data amount of Image Processing is enormous, processing speed has become one of the bottle-necks restricting its development. Real-time image processing technology emerged as the times require, and its ability of broad application has brought far-reaching influence to the progress of society and the advance of productivity.The thesis combined author’s experience of research on real-time image processing and the developing project of embedded Digital Video Recorder (DVR) in intern period, come up with a systemic method about real-time image processing based on DSP. This method makes use of TI company chip of DM642. And the algorithm of image compression based on DCT transform, adding the digital watermark based on DWT.Firstly, this thesis analyses the application field of digital image processing, as well as its characteristic. And here introduces the dominance of DSP in image processing and the differences between DSP and GPP.Secondly, two algorithms are used here: graphic compression and digital watermark. Analyzing the theory foundation of DCT and DWT, thesis gives their implement.And then, the thesis introduced the real-time image processing system based on DSP. This part introduced the structure feature and capability of DSP,and its platform of software and hardware. In the end, thesis introduces the developed tool: ccs.Lastly, the thesis summarized the theoretic algorithm and system structure discussed above, and designed a whole real-time image processing system. Later, the processing result is given, so is the testing data.
