Predicate-complement structure, to which academic circles pay close attention, plays a very important and special role in Chinese grammar. It not only riches the expressions of Chinese language, but also promotes the development of other grammars in Chinese. As Predicate-complement structure has such an important effect, it has always been the study focus. Thise thesis, which chooses Er pai as the language material, makes some descriptions and comparings about its predicate-complement construction, trying to bring to light the trait of it, and provides more materials to the researches of predicate-complement in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty. The whole paper is divided into seven parts:The first part is the introduction, which makes a brief description about its edition, language value and researching situation. From the second part to the sixth part, this thesis describes and analyses the organization forms, semanitic features and pragmatic features of the“resultative complement”,“directional complement”,“potentional complement”,“descriptive complement”and“degree complement”. Based on the statistical analysis, the paper finds that the predicate-complement structure in Er pai has the following characteristics: firstly, the divided form“VOC”exsists in Er pai, meanwhile, adjective, transitive verb and intransitive verbs perform an eaqual Symmetrical pattern as a kind of complement. Secondly, the directional complements are vivid, which contain“起去”,“拢去”,“拢来”that have already dispeared in morden Chinese. And the forms of“directional complement”are rich, which have the new“V+QC1+O+QC2”form,“A+QC”form,“N+QC”form and“V+O1+QC1+O+QC2”form. Thirdly,“得”in Er pai plays four functions: verb, resultative complement, directional complement and potentional complement. The last part is the summary and comparing. By comparing with other works, the paper tries to reveal the characteristics of predicate-complement structure in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty.
