The mechanism and reason of descent of gastrointestinal power was briefly described in this paper, and the mechanism and development of gastroprokinetic agent was also introduced. The action and the advantage and shortage of some kind of gastroprokinetic were analyzed. Itopride hydrochloride, a new kind of gastroprokinetic agant, was introduced. A new synthetic route of itopride hydrocholoride was designed on the base of literatures. The process was investigated and improved for its industrialization. The total yield was 55.44%, which was calculated by the p-hydroxybenzaldehyde by seven steps. The yield was improved in this process than what’s in the literatures, as well as the quality and cost. All of these are helpful for its industrialization. Its structure was confirmed by IR, UV, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, MS analysis.
