A Study on the Seismic Response Characteristic and Plastic Hinges Mechanism with Energy Dissipation of RC Frame Structure Based on Space Effects

It is indicated by theoretical analysis and seismic damage of structures that the essence of earthquake ground motion and the response of the structure under the seismic action are multi-dimensional. In the former seismic response research of reinforced concrete structure, as a result of the limitation of technical method, the researcher often uses the plane analysis model, only considers the response that under unidirectional horizontal earthquake action, and carries on the computation separately along two main directions of structure. In fact, regardless of regular structure or irregular structure, there are obvious differences between the responses that under unidirectional horizontal earthquake action and bidirectional horizontal earthquake action. Therefore, the responses of the structure obtains from two kinds of models need to be further studied. And for spatial frame, because of the bidirectional loading, the seismic response is different from the unidirectional loading, this also need to be carefully studied. Using the space analysis model to do the analysis under the bidirectional horizontal earthquake action is a effective method for this studies.In this paper, the author firstly designs a multilayer reinforced concrete structure according to the code for seismic design of buildings (GB50011-2001) and the code for concrete structure design (GB50010-2002), and then takes out two representative plane frames along the two directions of spatial frame. Subsequently, using the non-linear analysis program OpenSees which based on the column-beam element of fiber model, input several ground motion records, which are selected according to the demand of code, to carry the structures’three-dimensional nonlinear analysis in two perpendicular directions at the same time. In the next part, the paper sums up the calculation results, contrasts the global responses (like the topmost displacement, the inner story drift angle) and the local responses (like the fibers’strain, the distribution of plastic hinge, the magnitude of the plastic angle and the ductility demand) of spatial frame and plan frame and gives some opinion that if the plan analysis conclusion can represent the response of whole structure.Finally, the conclusions of this paper are as following:①For the unidirectional displacement of structure, the analysis results are similar between the spatial frames and the plane frames which mass are adjusted. But if inspects by the global displacements of spatial frames, it is 1.3 ~ 1.4 times to plane
