Optimize Design and Finite Element Analysis of the Compound Material Leaf Spring

In order to save auto energy and reduce gasoline consume, people in-and-out country have made a great lot of study on leaf spring , which are used to lighten the weight,improve the driving comfort, stability and its endurance. Compared with leaf spring, compound material can lighten nearly 70% weight based on satisfying its strength, and it can lower gasoline consume greatly, prolong its life and improve its safety.On the base of the status that leaf spring’s application and composite material development in our country, a study on an automobile equipped with main and accessory leaf spring is done, which used the compound material spring instead of leaf spring. According to stratified laminated board theory, we calculated the spring’s dangerous stress and biggest flexibility, the intensity and rigidity as restriction, the minimum mess as target, and then optimized spring’s structure used Matlab tolls in order to improve our efficiency.In order to finite analyse, seting up three-dimensional CAD model to show the spring directly, then import it into ANSYS, at last, it should do the CAE study aimed at the compound material spring, when it on pre-loading status and distortion and stress, the result proves that the designs is rational.The study can increase the veracity and rationality of design, the method, which used in this paper, has some catholicity, and it can provide some reference to designer.
