Based on the investigation on the present situation of effective learning in biological teaching in Guangzhou high schools, this paper mainly studied the practical situation and the problem in effective learning of biology and proposed the corresponding countermeasures. It aimed to offer factual information for learning biology effectively and to provide guidance for the practice and development of high school biological effective learning.The paper, on one hand, gives a theoretical basis for its investigations section. On the other hand, the analytical result of the investigation offers factual information for the countermeasures study. The section of present investigation mainly introduced the methods of investigation and data processing, and also inspected the reliability and validity of the questionnaire survey results. Through statistical analysis of the survey data, it revealed the present situation of biological effective learning in six high schools. It found that five dimensionalities of learning motivation, learning interest and autonomous learning, cooperative learning and inquiry learning are not work well in the procession of biological learning. Among the former five dimensionalities, inquiry learning is quite better. However, compared with inquiry learning, learning motivation is the most unfavorable. Overall said, the difference of effective learning’s status among A, B and C kind of schools is not obvious. There is also no significant difference in the learning motivation, learning interest and autonomous learning, cooperative learning and inquiry learning situation. Besides, the difference is not the most remarkable of learning motivation, and the average score are the lowest of learning motivation of three kinds of schools in five dimensionalities. In countermeasures study section, the paper proposes the corresponding countermeasures to solve the existing problems, and to help the students of Guangzhou high school in learning effectively in biology.This is the first paper studies on Guangzhou high school biological effective learning’s current situation and countermeasures under the background of the new curriculum standards. On the basis of previous studies, this paper first presented a investigation questionnaire suitable for biology class which is based on five dimensionalities of learning motivation, learning interest and autonomous learning, cooperative learning and inquiry learning. This five dimensionalities are suitable for biological educative research. What’s more, this paper puts forward five evaluative dimensions of high school biological effective learning’s pratical situation, and it enrich the connotation of high school biology effective learning. According to the research of effective learning’s present situation and measures in Guangzhou high school biology education, the author hopes that both education departments and schools intensify efforts to educate, cultivate and improve the effect of high school biology education through understanding learning motivation, learning interest and autonomous learning, cooperative learning and inquiry learning in order to promote their biological science literacy.
