Off grid wind turbine systems generally use the generator output directly to charge the battery , and control aspects of wind power conversion , due to the characteristics of the power output of the generator with a maximum power output of the wind turbine characteristics do not match , so the change of wind speed The wind turbine can not always run best tip speed ratio , wind energy utilization coefficient is relatively low , generally less than 0.3 . According to the the Bates theoretical limits of wind energy utilization coefficient of 0.593 , If you control the wind turbine always best tip speed ratio operation , the generating capacity can be increased by 20 % to 30% . This paper presents a new off-grid wind turbine systems , by a two-winding permanent magnet synchronous generator , two sets of three-phase reactors, rectifiers , battery and load . The generator winding turns than winding 2, and therefore , at a lower speed when only the winding of an output power at high speed , the windings 1 and 2 are simultaneously output power . The system output power characteristic curve approximation with the maximum power curve of the wind turbine is consistent , which automatically track the optimal tip speed ratio . Design method based on assumptions and produced a 300W prototype match simulation and experiments show that the system is able to achieve maximum output power characteristic curve of the wind turbine power curve within a wide speed range , and with the traditional off-grid generators comparison , a substantial increase of wind energy utilization coefficient .
