Application of Finite Element Method and Reliability in Bus Body Structure Analysis

Regarding XX-style bus of SHENYANG XX Bus Manufacture Co. Ltd as the research object, this thesis employs the basic theory and analysis method of structure reliability to research on the reliability of the bus, on the basis of random finite element static analysis.Firstly, this thesis adopts finite element method to compute the bus body and uses the analysis software,. ANSYS, to research the static strength and stiffness of the bus body structure on the four typical conditions of running with uniform velocity, torsion, braking suddenly and steering quickly.’Secondly, traditional bus body structural analysis always ignore the uncertainty fact and adopt the determinacy Mechanics model, which may cause analysis result and reality producing deviation. So, this thesis takes the method of based on the probability of bus body structure system reliability analysis. It regards the load, material properties, structural dimension as random variable and used ASFOSM, Branch Bounding Method, PNET, etc.Thirdly, compile the reliability analysis program of bus body structure based on the structure of the bus body system reliability analysis and FORTRAN application. Select four typical conditions for body structure reliability analysis and evaluation, and contrast with result of deterministic static analysis. Study found that the failure element of bus body structure reliability and finite element deterministic static analysis of the maximum stress at a better consistency, further verify the correctness of this approach.Finally, Results of calculation and analysis indicate that this Reliability analysis methods and results can offer a good reference to bus body design, which can contribute to shorten the development cycle and reduce development costs. Bus body structure has various randomness factors, if research each situation will spend amount of time and resource, especially take into account some or all of factors, and the problem will be extremely complexity. Still, based on the probability of structural reliability analysis has its profound and extensive engineering background, So there are broad prospects for the development and practical significance.
