Cold - formed steel members have been widely used in the construction, automotive , transportation , warehousing and other industries as an economic cross-section profiles . While in the country , as the building structure using cold-formed steel , the range of applications the overwhelming majority for the steel structure of the building envelope : purlins , wall purlins and secondary structural parts while abroad growing number of cold-formed steel used for low-rise residential and formed a factory site the standardized metal construction assembly and industrialized housing . In this paper, in conjunction with an army field space , a preliminary study of a combination of cold-formed C-shaped steel strut portal frame design . Covers the following : (1) computer program written by the finite element method for solving the combination portal frame Compressed Members critical load , and thus obtained by the calculation of the pressure bearing bar length coefficient ; ( 2) for several different high cross- ratios and different models of the diagonal brace position Compressed Members comparison of the calculated length coefficient ; (3) to determine the calculated length coefficient of Compressed Members of this topic ; (4) In view of the existing norms GB50018-2002 and the United States AISI Specification for cold-formed steel compression plate pieces of the effective width of the different calculation methods and suggestions for improvement of the domestic experts and scholars , analysis and comparison of the effective cross-sectional component of the subject ; ( 5 ) combined Compressed Members calculated length coefficient and the above three methods to calculate the effective cross-section of the component , and the stability of the component in the plane of the moments were analyzed and compared .
