Pouring cement-asphalt composite is generally described as an open-graded asphalt concrete mixture filled with cement grouts, which is a unique combination of asphalt and cement concrete materials in the same layer.On the basis of researches inside and outside of the country, an asphalt mixture base with a high void volume was designed according to volume design procedure, and optimum asphalt content of mixture was determined by Marshall tests. Reasonable water/cement of grouts and reasonable grouting quantity in unit area were determined by Marshall Stability and spitting tensile strength of cement-asphalt composites at varying water/cement and grouting quantities. Some mechanical properties tests of cement-asphalt composites at different ages were carried out, and the relationship between mechanical strength and age was found out. The pavement performances were studied systematically with 28d’pouring cement-asphalt composite material. Comparing with the common asphalt mixture, the pouring cement-asphalt composite material has higher mechanical strength, and better high-temperature stability, low-temperature resistance and water stability. Cement-fly ash-asphalt composites by adding some fly ash into cement grouts also have good performances.Pouring colored cement-asphalt composite is one of ways to realize colored pavement. It is generally described as an open-graded asphalt concrete mixture filled with cement grouts in which pigments or colored grouts are added. Compared with common asphalt mixtures, mechanical properties and pavement performance of colored composites have been improved remarkably. In pavement engineering, colored cement-asphalt composite is an effective technical measure to prevent rutting caused by plastic deformation of asphalt mixtures. The anti-slippery road surfaces which are paved with colored cement-asphalt composites will not only improve the city’s appearance, but also help to ease traffic congestion. Colored cement-asphalt composites can be widely used in paved surfaces in highway, landscape road, urban bus lane, dangerous intersection, and bridge.
