With the development of enterprise information technology, more and more companies have to face the hard problem of integrating different application systems. SAP (System, Applications and Products in Data Processing) is the most advanced technology in the field of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). SAP is widely used in enterprise environments because it promotes excellent management models and boosts company competitive advantages. Customized configuration and development have to be made to meet the different requirements of enterprises because SAP is a standardized general system. The most complicated commercial product in the field, SAP contains the most system integration methods. However the lack of technical experts and documentations due to late domestic introduction of the SAP system hinders the progress in this area.In the background of the SAP program implementation in the his company, the writer deeply studies the SAP system and its interface technology, and finishes a lot of development work as well. First, the thesis describes the architecture of the SAP system and its functionalities, focusing on the development environment and the SAP developing language ABAP. Then it moves onto the analysis of the interface model and selection methods that are used in integrating the SAP system with other applications. In order to implement the integration of data flow and business flow in the SAP R/3 and PDMLink system, the thesis compares the characteristics, functionalities and architectures of the ERP and PDM systems. It further analyzes the core work and difficulties of the integration. Based on the analysis results, it proposes a set of advanced and practical solutions which pass the system certification process. Finally, the thesis analyzes the feasibility of the solution and introduces the implementation of the key interface technology.
