A Study on Vocabulary Interpretation Methods in Vocabulary Teaching in TCFL

Mastering vocabulary is the cornerstone of learning a foreign language. Since china have appeared the major of TCFL,grammar and sentence structure teaching is the most important thing and vocabulary teaching has always been a weak link. Word interpretation is a crucial link of vocabulary teaching. Using interpretation methods which are scientific and effective can not only inspire the learner’s interest,but also improve their learning efficiency.At the same time,the methods mentioned above can help learners reduce their fear for chinese words,and make them get more with less. In recent years, people has paid much more attention on vocabulary teaching in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.Researches about contents and methods which belong to the vocabulary teaching in TCFL become more and more,and they do have some valuable views,but still have some shortcomings too. Therefore,the reseash on word interpretation method has great necessity.The paper first analyses the contents and principles of word interpretation in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language according to treatises which are from plenty of scholars.Then,on the basis of summerizing the existing word interpretation methods in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and contents and principles of word interpretation,the paper makes classification interpretations for those methods by taking specific language material for example. And this step is the point of the paper,because choosing proper and effective interpretation methods according to the feature of chinese charactors and the practical chinese class teaching is necessary for the success of word teaching.At last,the paper makes the statistical analysis of the application of word interpretation methods in the text book which is took for example.And it also summerizes the appropriate and inappropriate word features to each method,and perhaps this is meaningful to the chinese teaching class practice.We use three methods including inductive analysis, exemplification and statistical methods to do the research.And our goal is to summerize the appropriate and inappropriate word features to each vocabulory teaching method.We hope it will be a valuable research.
