In today's society , the mold industry has become one of the important basic industries in the national economy , the design and manufacture of plastic mold in China mainly relies on the experience of designers and process skills , the design is reasonable or not , products for defects only through trial the modulus know , mold design and manufacturing cycle , high costs . The use of computer-aided engineering ( CAE ) , can improve the plastic mold design and manufacturing standards and product quality . Injection molding CAE technology for plastic injection molding process simulation analysis , include the filling flow simulation , simulation of the packing process , cooling process simulation and warpage simulation analysis . Simulation analysis can predict lack of product filling , weld marks , bubbles and warpage and other defects , and can be determined the quantity and location of the gate , the determination of the injection when the injection pressure and the injection time , the melt flow striker temperature changes, shear stress, shear rate parameters. This paper introduces the contents of the injection molding CAE technology , method and its development to proceed on the flow simulation analysis , the cooling simulation analysis and warpage simulation analysis theory and simulation software MPI ( Moldflow Plastics Insight ) the role and function do detailed presentation. The focus of the application MPI software the six plastic products injection molding process flow , pressure , cooling and warpage simulation analysis , forecast products possible defects . Proven , the simulation results with actual production is consistent , and for the various defects by changing the molding material , molding process conditions , molding equipment and other parameters to optimize the simulation analysis , and ultimately determine reasonable parameters . This process has a major value of the actual production , the use of CAE simulation technology can reduce the tryout , the number of repair mode , and shorten mold design and manufacturing cycles , reduce production costs . In addition , the article also discussed in detail the major defects of the products such as : surface defects , deformation and size bad crack and cracking the undesirable phenomenon unique in the injection and molding characteristics of the negative phenomena and its causes , and proposed for a variety of defects improvement.
