With the development of computer technology , an important part of computer graphics : the virtual reality technology and CAD technology has also been a lot of development . Abroad , play a significant role in the design and study of virtual reality technology and CAD technology manufacturing complex model . In the country , the application of virtual reality technology in railway vehicle is still in the exploratory stage , 3D CAD technology in the design of the railway rolling stock is mainly concentrated in the railway passenger car product 3D solid modeling , finite element analysis of the product , the standard parts library establish other aspects of a more comprehensive three-dimensional design of the vehicle at the exploratory stage . The virtual driving railway locomotive railway vehicle virtual prototype system developed in this paper and railway passenger car steel structure three-dimensional parametric design in two parts , it not only can improve design efficiency and quality , also in line with the requirements of the development of the modern technology . This paper is in Windows 2000 professor microcomputer operating platform , through real-time simulation modeling software MultiGen Creator to create a real-time model railway locomotive cab Vega graphical interface LynX of initialization work to complete the locomotive virtual driving to VisualC 6.0 as a development tool , write C applications Vega secondary development to complete the railway locomotive virtual driving subsystem ; development platform Pro/ENGINEER2000i for using the powerful modeling capabilities of the Pro/ENGINEER2000i to the completion of the railway passenger car steel structure parts , a combination of initial modeling of the pieces ; Visual C as a development tool , to write C programs to call the Pro / E secondary development package Pro / TOOLKIT function , and the use of Visual C to complete an easy-to-use user interface , complete the 3D parametric CAD design subsystem , railway passenger car steel railroad passenger car steel roof structure , the automatic assembly of the steel underframe , inside and outside the end wall of steel structures and steel structures as a whole .
