Repeat markers belong discourse markers in a class , but the repeat marker research is far lower than the discourse marker . This thesis is based on the Corpus of English restatement markers comparative study . By using two spoken corpus of data , this study restatement markers do a more comprehensive study . These two corpora are: Corpus SECCL and a reference corpus MICASE. By using the corpus contents as a solid research base, the study of Chinese English Majors and native American students repeat markers in the use of English in the same and different characteristics of the exploration. This study is mainly based on relevance theory, while using interlanguage comparative analysis of English for the filtered restatement Markers syntactic features , semantic features and pragmatic features to analyze and draw some of the main conclusions. Overall, Chinese English majors in spoken English repeat markers using a frequency much lower than native speakers of English students (p lt; 0.01). Through the study found that syntactic features , data showed Chinese English majors and the United States to use native students in the discourse that is to say, such as, I mean the location is almost the same. But they tend to for example, for instance, well placed in different locations discourse . Repeat markers on semantic features of a comprehensive study, not difficult to find Chinese English Majors and native American students in the semantic aspects of language use restatement mark is almost the same . This study marks the restatement Pragmatic functions as their common characteristic for research , but expected from these two examples extracted library to be demonstrated . Finally, this study also analyzes the cause slight reasons for these differences , and later made ??a number of recommendations related research .
