The Preparation and Application of Anti-staining Agent on Denim Cellulose Washing

Denim is popular with general customer because of its special property and grind old appearance. But during the process of denim washing with cellulose, the indigo dye particles which split away off the fabric will be adsorbed to denim again, leading to varying degrees staining on the back of fabric and pockets, it will influence the appearance of denim seriously.The influence of different kinds of cellulose on denim washing and different concentrations and ions of surfactant on the activity of cellulose were studied. The results showed that anionic surfactant restrained the activity of cellulose seriously, cation surfactant came second: nonionic surfactant activated the activity of cellulose to some extent: high molecular surfactant had influenced the activity of cellulose little.The effect of anti-staining on different structure of surfactant and built surfactant during the process of denim washing was studied. The results showed that the anti-staining effect on fatty alcohol-polyoxyethylene ether was well when the additive rate of polyoxyethylene was high: high molecular surfactant PVP also had well anti-staining effect. The built surfactant of fatty alcohol-polyoxyethylene ether and fatty amine ethoxylates had well anti-staining effect.The initiator was benzoyl peroxide, the solvent was toluol, the synthesis of styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer used homogeneous techniques, the volume ratio of styrene:maleic anhydride was 1:3, reaction temperature was 75℃, held temperature for 3.5 hours, the rate of maleic anhydride in the copolymer was 31.90%, the molecular weight was 10800.The hydrolysate of styrene-maleic copolymer(SMH) was used in the process of denim washing. The result showed that SMH had well diffusivity in the indigo solution and SMH had little effect on the activity of cellulose. Adding moderate amount of SMH into the denim cellulose washing solution could reach significant effect of anti-staining.
