Synthesis and Spectroscopic Studies of Novel Calix [4 ] arene derivatives

Calixarene is from 4 to 20 phenol units in the 2,6 positions with the methylene group linked to the formation of the macrocyclic oligomer . With the development of calixarene chemistry , functionalized calixarenes have been used for molecular recognition, ion recognition , molecular probes , medicine and other fields . In this paper, as the starting material , tert - butyl phenol and formaldehyde condensation replaced by one-step or two-step synthesis of five new -tert-butyl-calix [ 4] arene derivatives ( compounds A , B , C , D , E ) , its structure by FT - IR , 1 < / sup > H NMR , FAB - MS characterization confirmed . Of compound D , compound 3 with rare earth ions Eu 3 sup > , the Tb 3 < / sup > with identification studied in detail , as well as the D · Eu in 3 sup > discussed primarily as a calf thymus DNA molecular probes .
