MPEG-4 video transmission is an important topic of multimedia network applications , and its study of great significance . The papers using MPEG-4 encoding technology , the use of RTP / RTCP protocol , designed a model of the network based on the C / S (Client / Server) real-time video transmission structure , designed to adapt to the current network conditions , and make full use of network resources , in the application layer the best video quality of service. First , the paper discusses the limitations of HTTP, TCP and other protocols for real-time transmission of real-time transmission control protocol RTP / RTCP . Summary of the system structure of the MPEG-4 standard and the MPEG-4 video coding techniques . Secondly, in the adaptation of the transmission rate of the network bandwidth of the video data , the authors , by analyzing the control algorithm applicable to the adaptive encoding of MPEG-4 video , video data packing algorithm , and network congestion control algorithm , the network congestion feedback control algorithm improvement and optimization of thinking . Finally , in the foregoing analysis and design based on MPEG-4 video encoding and transmission of Direct Show technology , network videophone system feasibility , real-time video acquisition , MPEG-4 video encoding video transmission and decoding encoding test ; system designed to be practical , the authors also designed the communication data between the client and the client , the client and the directory server structure , customer network management .
