The paper introduces the conception and principle of the Expert System, Discusses some knowledge representation such as production, semantic network, frame, predicate logic and so on, Depicts some reasoning technology such as forward reasoning, backward reasoning and uncertain reasoning. On the basis of the Expert System theory the paper designs a object-oriented knowledge representation method based on frame and rule, using the method it designs and implements the prototype of the Visual integrated Expert System development tool (VIESDT).VIESDT is a universal graphic interchange visual Expert System Development Tool, From the knowledge boundary, it organizes the Expert Knowledge based according of frame, divides the rule which compose of the reasoning procedure into the rule which is the knowledge object node corresponding the frame structure. VIESDT advances a method to build the Expert System on the aspect of knowledge boundary. At last the paper designs and implements the VIESDT prototype making full use of object-oriented technology and design patterns.
