The Characteristics and Relationship among Learning Stressors, Learning Burnout and Sleep Quality in Middle School Students

Objective To explore the relationship among learning stressors, learning burnout and sleep quality of middle school students. Method 751 students were investigated using SSS,revised HSSB and PSQI. Results(1)The revised HSSB is reliable and valid. (2)There were significant gender difference and grade difference in learning stressors. (3)There was significant grade difference in learning burnout.(4)15.852% students had sleep problem, and there were significant gender difference and grade difference in sleep quality. (5)There were significant correlation between learning stressors and learning burnout, learning burnout and sleep quality, learning stressors and sleep quality. (6)The model constructed by the three variables was fitting well.Conclusions (1)The girls suffered a greater learning stress and poorer sleep quality. (2)The level of learning burnout was rising with the grade increasing. (3)We can not ignore the problem of middle school students’sleep quality, mainly including the daily dysfunction, poor subjective sleep quality and sleep disturbance.The sleep quality decreased when the grade increased, and the first and third year of junior middle school students had poorest sleep quality. (4)The learning stressors can not only directly affect sleep quality, but also affect it through leaning burnout.
