According to the present using situation of buildings heating and air condition, TCCH (shorted for two-stage compression and cascade heat pump) is used to solve the problem of the step utilization of the energy. The most important part of the system of TCCH is intercooler. This paper analyses three aspects about intercooler, which are the structure of intercooler, heat exchange in intercooler, and the similarities and differences between TCCH and the common two-stage heat pump. At last, the more suitable structure of intercooler to the step utilization of the energy is designed.The difficulty of the design of TCCH is the assign of refrigeration between the high pressure system and the low one. From cooling water style and the middle temperature determination of the system, the assigned relation between the high-pressure and low-pressure system is concluded. And then TCCH experiment system is designed, established and tested.Because of the new type system and absence of datum, some of questions in the designing of system were found from experiments. Having been analyzed these questions, the answers are found and a new experiment system is reconstructed.The performance of the new system is improved obviously and reaches to the basic requirements. According to the five kind of experimental plans based on the TCCH, this paper analyzes the experiment datum and draws relevant curves, which directly demonstrate the operating character.This paper also discusses the feasibility and reliability, economy, adjustment, operation, and security of the system, and further analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of this technology.
