The Optimization and Practice of the Assignment Design in "the Analects"(Elective Course) in the Background of New Curriculum Reform

Since the new round implementation of the curriculum reform, a number of textbooks are published, within which“The Analects”( Chinese press ) , as a new teaching material for Chinese elective course, is commonly used in Zhejiang province. The optional course, together with its teaching material play a major role in enhancing students’ Chinese accomplishment, understanding the ancient culture. But in the application of this teaching material, we also find shortcomings such as its assignment design. In this paper the author conducts a specialized analysis and research in this aspect.The basic theoretical foundations of this study are the diversification theory, life is education, proximal development zone etc. With the guiding principles to be dialectic, independent, developing, exploratory and timely, the author conducts the survey of the assignment design in "the Analects”, at the same time talks about the existing problems in current assignment design and analyzes probable reasons from the aspects of curriculum, textbooks and teachers.The author puts forward the viewpoints that the assignment optimization of "The Analects" should meet the requirements of elective course, highlighting human nature, interest, relevance, evaluation appreciation, relativity, and exploration. The author believes that in the design of assignments, not just single objective questions are adopted, but also diverse kinds of questions. We are supposed to combine knowledge inside and outside class, integrate the knowledge of learned and being learned, strengthen cultural ties to help have a more profound understanding of the national culture in "The Analects" and take a comparative and dialectical view of traditional culture. We ought to link "The Analects" to the real life of our students and help them treat the traditional culture objectively and impartially. Also, inspire students to explore cultural knowledge in "the Analects", cooperate and explore freely. On the basis of self-dialectical understanding, more exercises are encouraged to enhance students’ability of self-expression. "The Analects" is a certain content of college entrance examination and its assignment design should allow students to gradually understand the direction of the college entrance examination in order to better guide them to grasp the knowledge in "The Analects". In a variety of assignments, current events, stories, reviews and other artists are added to help students have a comprehensive understanding and application of learned knowledge, meanwhile help to integrate the knowledge of diverse aspects, expand the reading surface and enhance cultural awareness The optimization of the assignments of "The Analects" textbook is a more complicated and difficult practice progress. It doesn’t take a total negation of the other assignments, but holds an attitude of“selecting the essence and discarding the dross.”, meanwhile conducts original design. Therefore a continued effort is needed to form a more systematic and complete solution.
