Literature is the creature of imagination, the art of language, the imitation of life attitude. It shows the author’s deep thoughts, experiences and concept of value. Literature has its own system, which directs the readers to feel the unlimited attraction of art and life’s happiness from the literature.Education is one way of transmitting culture, its content and form change with time and social development. It forms suitable education system and study method with different purpose.Literature education is a new subject, and the researches and practices of literature education are necessary. Literature education refers to educating students to understand the literature works in the correct way, experience diversified literature feeling and foster the sense of beauty, the insight into human nature. Fiction is one of the four literature forms. It leads high proportion in high school textbooks in China and Korea. Learning fiction, which is a unique literature form, can feel the life, improve the writing ability and foster the students’ abilities of observation, imagination, appreciation and understanding. Fiction describes the art and creates the image. People are always weak and incompetent, because of the people’s choice. If you choose one way of life, it means you need give up other thousands of choices. People are satisfied by experiencing totally different lives from fiction.This thesis analyzes the high school textbooks, under the theory of literature education. The author classifies the textbooks, makes questionnaire investigations and detailed studies based on the high school students’ actual situation. Finally the author sums up the present circumstances of fiction education, finds out the problems and tries to solve it.
