The movement Qigong practice group do Baduanjunexercises. And the state group practice practice relaxation exercise, or Fangsonggong. The first three groups received routine diabetes treatment combined with theintervention of Qigong practice. And the controlled group only received routinediabetes treatment. All the patients are measured by MMPI, SCL-90, DSWQ, fastingblood sugar, glycosylated hemoglobin in their pretherapy, two months after treatment, four months after treatment. All the statistics are analyzed by software SPSS 13.0.Result:1.Psychological state The mark of somatization, obsessive-compulsive, anddepression factors is obviously higher than ordinary models in China (P<0.05) amongthe three groups before receiving Qigong pratice therapy. After four months of Qigongpractice, obsessive-compulsive and depression factors show no obvious difference tothe ordinary models in China. (P>0.05) .It shows that Qigong practice corrects psychological abnormal state, especiallyobsessive-compulsive, and depression factor.Comparison among groups After four months of Qigong practice, thesocialintroversion factor in MMPI is obvious better in the state group than thecontrolled group. (P<0.05) The somatization factor in SCL-90 is obvious better inmovement group than in the controlled group. (P<0.05) There is no obvious changein other factors.Comparison within group After four months of Qigong practice, the total mark, average mark, somatization, obsessive-compulsive, and depression factor ofmovement group show obvious improvement (P<0.05) in SCL-90.The psychopathicdeviated factor, psychasthenia factor, schizophrenia factor in MMPI of combinationgroup improved obviously (P<0.05) . The total mark, average mark, average mark ofpositive symptoms, obsessive-compulsive, and hostility factor are improved obviouslyin SCL-90.(P<0.05) The hysteria factor, psychopathic deviated factor, paranoiafactor in MMIP of the state group are also improved obviously. (P<0.05) The average mark of positive symptoms decreased obviously in SCL-90.(P<0.05) Thepsychopathic deviated factor and schizophrenia factor paranoia factor in MMPI ofcontrolled group changed obviously. (P<0.05) There are no obvious change in otheraspects.Differences among groups After four months of Qigong practice, the hysteria factor, psychasthenia factor, schizophrenia factor in MMIP of the state group are improvedobviously. (P<0.05) The hysteria factor in the MMPI of state group is much betterthan the controlled group. (P<0.05) There is no obvious change in other aspects.(P>0.05)3.Life qualityComparison among groups After four months Qigong practice, the total mark, physiological, psychological, social, and treating aspect are much better than thecontrolled group. (P<0.05) The total mark, social, and treating aspect is obviousbetter than the controlled group. (P<0.05) There is no obvious change in otheraspects. (P>0.05)Comparison within group After four months of Qigong practice, the total mark, physiological, psychological, social, and treating aspect is much better thanpretreatment. (P<0.05) The total mark, physiological, spychological aspect isimproved than before receiving treatment. (P<0.05) There are obvious change in thetotal mark, physiological, and social aspect in the controlled group. (P<0.05) There isno obvious change in other aspects. (P>0.05)Differences among groups After four months of Qigong practice, the total mark, physiological, psychological, social, and treating aspect of the combined group isobvious improved than the controlled group. (P<0.05) The total mark, physiological, social aspect is obvious improved than the controlled group. (P<0.05 ) The total mark, physiological, social aspect is better than the controlled group. There is on obviousdifference in other aspects. (P>0.05)4.GlycometabolismComparison among groups The level of fasting blood suger and glycosylatedhemoglobin show no obvious change among groups. (P>0.05 )Comparison within group After four months practice, the fasting blood suger levelincreases obviously in the controlled group. (P<0.05 ) There is no obvious change inother aspects. (P>0.05) Differences among groups After four months of Qigong practice, the glycosylatedhemoglobin level in the combined group is obvious lower than the controlled group.(P<0.05) There is no obvious change in other aspects. (P>0.05)Conclusion: while the paranoid disorder and social relationship factors are better thanordinary models in China.1.The psychological health condition of all type 2 diabetes patients in this research isrelatively poor. The symptoms are somatization, obsessive-compulsive, anddepression factors. Qigong practice improves the abnormal psychological state of type2 diabetes patient at certain level. It shows that Qigong has certain clinical value as anassistant treating therapy.2.Our research shows that different types of Qigong practice have different effects.Movement Qigong practice, such as Baduanjin exercise, has better effect in improvingpart of the mood or emotion disorders, namely somatization, obsessive-compulsive,and depressiom, of type 2 diabetes patients. While state Qigong practice, or relexationexercise, can improve part of the characteristics of the patients, such as hysteria factor, psychopathic deviated factor, paranoia factor. Due to the limited time of our research, the result is not enough to get a certain conclusion. The result also inspires how toselect approperate Qigong practice and be a guidance in the further study of Qigongpractice.3.This research primarily proves that Qigong practice lift the life quality of type 2diabetes patients. The combination of movement Qigong practice and state Qigongpractice can improve the patient’s life quality obviously. Practice movement or stateQigong singlely can improve part of the patient’s life quality.4.Combined with statistics at the earlier stage of our research program, we considerthat Qigong practice maybe stablize the level of fasting blood suger and glycosylatedhemoglobin at the beginning of the practice. After certain time of practice, it willimprove glycometabolism.
