During the first several years of this century, great development has been made in the telecom industry special access network. To build a next generation access network with large capacity、high reliability、flexible and sustainable development will be a long-term and historical task for us.Kinds of service(PSTN、DDN、ATM、IP etc.) all use the independent network frame and equipment to access or connect together with some week point such as complex construction、long period、huge investment and lower utilization. For the operators, they have to face different system and hard to manage them. Although the growth rate of data area is higher than voice area, but the income of voice service is still a main part for the operator. So we must consider the both part during the construction of next access network. An integrated access network can meet the requirement of customer, can improve the competitive of the operator and avoid the duplicated construction. So MSAN coming as a key point for us due to above reasons. And a solution that integrate multi-service is needed base now.This text firstly introduce the access technology and VOIP technology. Then make a detailed research in IP using solution of MSAN integrated access equipment. The normal mode using now is "separately" IP for users. A optimized mode with resource protection named "sharing" IP. We’ll mainly focus on the design and working method of these two modes, also cover the inter-conversion. hiX equipment is a broadband access solution of Siemens who firstly announce the "sharing" IP mode. The text include much more about hiX framework. Through the system tests verify that the solution of the practical application of feasibility, stability and superiority. The whole research show that the optimized "sharing" IP concept can make voice user smoothly merged into NGN and do a great protection against the investment of operator.
