In recent years, all walks of life have been increasingly paying more attention to the aging problem. This leads to one trend that the research community concerns more about the requirement of the middle aged people. The rapid development of the science and technology brings the great revolution to the human society. The researcher eagerly looking forward to find some way to make the middle aged people to reap the benefit from this revolution. But most of the middle aged people are lack of experience on using the high-tech products, and what’s more some of them even contradict the high-tech product. Most of the product exist on the market cannot meet their requirement.Many researcher in the design area focus on the middle aged product design, however all studies are dispersed and they do not setup the design information system based on the system design for the middle aged people. With the trend that the design activity becomes more and more complex and diverse, people from not only the design and management area but also the market, system, information and other related areas join to the design. Because of this, one systematic design information sharing platform which is easily accepted by the people from all areas and end user is badly in need during the development of the middle aged mobile communication products. This platform can be used to explore the design principles, methods, concepts and other research aspects.This paper firstly identifies the mental modal, operation feature and the problem existing during the mobile phone usage of the middle aged people through perform the survey and investigation on the current mobile phone usage status of them. Then the data collected from the investigation is coded and analyzed in the form of design information framework. Based on the data analysis result, the mobile phone usage feature model of middle aged people is built up from different aspects and levels. Based on the problems reflected by the feature model, this paper performs the scene design and re-designs. Through these researches, this paper will explores the mobile phone usages problems exist of the middle aged people, and then discussed the solution and new design concepts. The investigation of the problem and feature models not only gives the theoretical and design basis to the middle aged mobile product designer but also provides the researcher in related areas one platform for information share and exchange.
