The Effect of Strategy Instruction on English Listening Comprehension

Since the 1990s , many famous scholars published a monograph on learning strategies , definition and classification of learning strategies , and introduces a new perspective of the learning strategy research . The strategy training is a study of one of the new angle . As a result, the \In the country , some academics have already started to do research strategy training , but not that much, but not comprehensive enough . Therefore , this study from a combination of strategy and task training perspective , to explore the effect of learning strategy training in autonomous learning environments to improve students 'listening compound dictation results also investigated the impact of strategy training on students ' strategy use . The sample of this study are two natural classes of 82 students . 43 classes as the experimental class , another class of 39 as the control classes . The two classes of students from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, science and engineering freshmen . Their English class taught by the same teacher . Listening Strategy guidance to the students divided into two parts . In this study, the experimental tools test, questionnaire , student presentations and interviews , they are used to study changes in student achievement and strategies change . Specific research questions are as follows : 1 . Hearing whether the learning strategy guidance can improve the achievements of students in the compound dictation ? 2 . Hearing whether learning strategy guidance strategy can promote students ? Listening Strategy guide with a different level of hearing whether the students have a different impact ? analysis of the experimental results , the authors come to the following conclusions : ( 1) strategic guidance on a certain role in the performance of the students in the compound dictation ; (2) policy guidance allows students use some improvement strategies ; (3) data from the overall point of view , the low level of the average student progress hearing level than the high level of students . But there are still failings in the experiment . According to these findings in the experiment , the authors proposed some inspiration in listening strategy guide, teacher training and self- learning aspects .
