Study on Preparation and Application of Polyaluminum Ferric Chloride (PAFC)

DaQing is one of the most important bases of petroleum and petrochemical production in China, the oily wastewater, as a consequence, has also become the primary problem. Because of the hig level of alkalinity, the unstable turbidimetry and temperature in the original water, the treating effect with the former flocculants was not good enough in treating the wastewater of DaQing. So the study, useing a new kind of PAFC flocculants, was done to improve the situation, and the satisfied result was eventually obtained.This paper described the influence of the synthesis temperature, the reaction time and the ratio of raw material on the preparation processes of PAFC specificly. The influence of the mixing speed, the mixing time, the pH value, and the addition amount of PAFC in the process of coagulation of PAFC was also studied. And finally the best conditions for the preparation processes of coagulant for drinking water treatment in Daqing areas are confirmed.The data collected shows that: when the stirring intensity is 150r/min, the removal of turbidity efficiency reach 95.08%; Stirring for 2 minutes, 95.03%; the dosage of PAFC is 150-200mg/l, 94.26%; PH value is 8, 92.01%, and when the PH value between 6 and 11, it’s about 90%. In the preparation process of PAFC, the Al and Fe ratio is 2∶1 without organic macromolecule coagulant aid and 4∶1 with the WZ-1 organic macromolecule electropositive coagulant aid. The temperature of oxidation process is controlled at about 90 degree centigrade while it’s about 50℃in the process of hydrolytic polymerization. After 1.5 hours’ reaction, the utilization rate of solid material is about 95%, and there was no significant changes with the increase of time. In addition, a set of production processes to produce PAFC with aluminum hydroxide, high purity magnet powder, and WZ-1 organic macromolecule electropositive coagulant aid was developed.
