Since the 1980s , environmental issues increasingly attentions , the world gradually became aware of the one-sided pursuit of the rapid development of economy and trade has had a negative impact on the environment while promoting trade liberalization , even in some areas , the trade has become an important factor in the damage to the environment . With the widespread concern of the international community on environmental protection and people's awareness of environmental protection , enhancement , many countries in the Western world , the use of the requirements of this era , and the implementation of a new non-tariff barriers (non-tariff barriers) measures in international trade exchanges - - green trade barriers (Green Barriers to Trade), to restrict the entry of products from other countries to obtain the best interests of their foreign trade . After accession to the WTO , China has repeatedly encountered the green trade barriers in developed countries , and therefore suffered huge losses . Industry of developed countries at the same time some of the environmental pollution and contaminants wantonly to transfer to China infiltration , green trade barriers have a significant impact on the harmonious development of China 's economy and environment .
