The purpose of Mass-Customization production is to custom-tailor the product and the service with random quantity for the single customer or the small batch and multi-varieties market at the price and the speed of Mass production. As the key technology of Mass-Customization production, product configuration is the premise and basis of the fast quoted price, the fast design, the fast manufacture and the fast assembly for Mass-Customization enterprises. Up to now,almost all the study on product configuration was based on the environment of Assemble-to-Order, the study on product configuration under the environment of Make-to-Order was little.Therefore, this paper took product configuration under Mass-Customization as the main research direction, product configuration problem under the environment of Make-to-Order was researched, which attempted to make contributions to product configuration theory in mass customization production.Firstly, the correlative theory of Mass Customization and product configuration were summarized. the product family BOM which put forward home and abroad were comparatively researched, the logical BOM is able to provide the configuration of higher customized, and support to solve product configuration problem for the Make-to-Order enterprise, which meets the customer individuality need better.In the next place,this article had pointed out product configuration process based on the logical BOM, and elaborated the instauration process of logical BOM. Then, established product configuration knowledge base based on the logical BOM with the method of production rules. Firstly, the parameter description of the logical parts were carried out, secondly, configuration rules and variables were ascertained. The reasoning solution flow and the algorithm were put forward.Lastly, in the fifth chapter, the procedure combined with idiographic experiment was compiled with the Java language, a configuration interface was structured. After the legitimate configuration conditions were inputted, the correct configuration results would be obtained. The simulation results indicated the product configuration conforms to the customer individuality demand can be gained with the method based on the logical BOM.
