This paper explores the creation and evolution of Shi Tao’s aesthetical thought by focusing his basic aesthetical statement“My Law is neither to build any law nor to abandon any law, no-law is law itself, and my supreme law comes from no-law”. The Theory of Primordial Line, the core of Shi Tao’s aesthetical thought, is thoroughly studied in the paper through illustrating its philosophical meaning and ascertaining its aesthetical value. Consequently,Shi Tao’s genuine sentiment and expression of art noumenon on the basis of“Tao”is delved in detail.Based on Huang Binhong’s Taiji philosophy, particularly his Theory of One Point, the paper also unveils the dialectic principle of change and non-change in Chinese culture and art development, including Chinese painting and calligraphy. Many aspects of Huang Binghong, such as his confident perseverance on nationality culture, pertinacity of the concept“Inner Beauty”that was widely recognized by traditional Chinese Scholars, the epochal significance of his involvement in poetry, calligraphy, painting, seal cutting and theoretical criticism, are reflected in this paper. Meanwhile, his artistic standpoint, which consists of“Conservation of the Quintessence of Chinese Culture”,“The Doctrine of Sovereign and People”,“The Painting Revival During the Reigns of Daoguang and Xianfeng”,“Five Brushes and Seven Inks”, is discussed in the paper, so as to probe into different factors which formed the value of his painting and brush art as well as his artistic consciousness and spiritual pursuit of national art and civilization. Finally, through the comparative study on the Theory of Primordial Line and the Theory of One Point, it is naturally to draw a conclusion that the Theory of One Point, having inherited traditional aesthetical core theory, including the Theory of Primordial Line, developed and pushed forward Chinese aesthetics.
