In this paper, Nd : YVO4 laser crystal physical characteristics and optical properties , analysis of the 4F3 / 2 → 4I9 / 2 quasi- three-level , and direct -pumped Nd : YVO4 crystal strongest absorption band 4I11 / 2 → 4F3 / 2 transitions by the excitation cross section were analyzed , while the direct pumping theoretical calculations . Compared with conventional pumping directly pumped long wavelength not only can reduce the heat generated in the laser medium to improve the quantum efficiency , and can also significantly improve the output performance of the laser , and to improve the slope efficiency of the laser , decrease the threshold .
