A Study of Key Technology on Auxiliary Lighting by Semiconductor Laser

Active infrared night vision technology in today's world of application is more and more widely, countries have given great attention. And auxiliary lighting light source as active infrared night vision technology is an important component in the quality of the lighting effect directly affects the night vision system stadia. According to the stadia theory principle, this paper mainly discusses with 808 nm semiconductor laser as auxiliary lighting light source of illumination. Analysis of the semiconductor laser's own characteristic and the output beam of homogeneity characteristic, theoretically discusses the laser and multimode optical fiber coupling technology and delimitation of currently used fiber coupling method. And the output power of 2 w 808 nm semiconductor laser optical fiber coupling experiment, got 85% of the coupling efficiency. After calculation, verify the 200 m distance laser output power fully meet the demand, coupled with self-designed emission lens, do the auxiliary lighting experiment. From the point of the effect of the actual lighting, fiber coupling technology although can greatly improve the laser output beam of the beam quality, but to achieve better beam uniformity, still need to use multiple beam coupling technology, with more semiconductor laser common goal to implement auxiliary lighting.
