The Research of Technology for 3D Fashion Virtual Distortion and Display

With the globalization of economy, garment enterprises face increasingly severe market competition, and how to meet customer demand and improve clothing production speed, it is most clothing enterprise problem to be solved. The fashion industry has entered into an unprecedented information and network-based age. When the human mode of production, the concept of life, as well as understanding ability changing, and the dress design also started huge and profound transformation, and have had one kind of new dress designing idea-clothing virtual design.Fashion closely ties up with body figure, and fashion should be designed to meet the needs of persons of different size, it is means that the virtual design should make the fashion a three-dimensional structure and ability to adjust its key parts. So not only the structure display and deformation of a realistic three-dimensional garment is an important frontier and hot issues in the research field of virtual reality and computer graphics, but also it provides the feasibility premise study for Personalized-Fitting-System.On the analysis of these problems above, in order to improve the deformation efficiency in the garment and virtual display industry,a set of intelligent system is developed which is suitable for the garment deformation. This paper firstly explains the basic knowledge about garment, establishes 3D dress stand, and puts forward the design scheme of the system. This paper introduces the structure method of virtual design and summarizes the main algorithms suitable for fashion distortion. This system is completed by taking VB.NET and Managed DirectX for development tools, 3DS MAX for model-making tools, and combining with a core algorithm named FFD (Free-Form Deformation) .This system could reduce the complicated manual operation and achieve the automatic mode of the three-dimensional garment deformation,which can effectively be parametric to a specific deformation of fashion display and further offers the successful case of clothing virtual design.
