Study of the Fabrics’ Thermal-Wet Comfort in Hingh Humidity Environment

The fabric thermal-moisture comfort is closely related with inside-garment microclimate and atmospheric humidity. It can be quite different between high and normal humidity environment due to the existence of water molecular.This paper studies thermal-moisture comfort in high humidity environment of summer fabric, winter warmth retention wadding and wearing. The experiment is done in two situations. In one situation, the fabric is right close to the human body; in another it leaves a small space to generate an inside-garment microclimate. In this experiment, we study the fabric heat resistant in dry condition and heat loss in sweaty condition, comparing them with those in normal humidity environment. We also study winter warmth retention wadding of various materials and find out the best density by testing their heat resistant in different densities. Finally, we ask the volunteers to put on the technical jacket and traditional pure cotton coat separately. We conclude, based on the physiological and psychological evaluation from the volunteers, that the thermal-moisture comfort of two sets clothes has significant differences.
