Objective To investigate the infrared video nystagmus diagram peripheral vertigo differential diagnosis application. Methods: 120 cases of peripheral vertigo patients ( 40 cases of Meniere's disease , benign paroxysmal positional vertigo in 58 cases, 12 cases of vestibular neuronitis , sudden deafness with vertigo eight cases , delayed endolymphatic 2 cases ) , the diagnostic criteria for these diseases ref ) for infrared video nystagmus diagram (videonystagmography VNG) examination, while selecting 30 healthy people as a control group . Study group and the control group are the United States of Micromedical video nystagmus Diagram System OK vestibular function test , check the contents in sequence: saccades and smooth tracking, optokinetic test, spontaneous nystagmus , shaking his head tests , the location test, deflection test and vestibular dual temperature tests. Results The study group VNG inspection records : saccade test eight cases of abnormal ; smooth tracking 17 cases of abnormal optokinetic test seven cases of abnormal ; spontaneous nystagmus 14 cases ( 11.67% ) , there positional nystagmus 55 cases ( 45.83% ) , bithermal test abnormalities were 48 cases : 30 cases including Meniere's disease ( 30 /40 ) , benign paroxysmal positional vertigo 4 cases ( 4 /58 ) , vestibular neuronitis 5 cases ( 5/12 ) , sudden onset deafness vertigo seven cases ( 7/8 ) , delayed endolymphatic two cases . Control group VNG inspection records : Test 3 cases of abnormal saccades and smooth tracking six cases of abnormal , abnormal optokinetic test two cases , no spontaneous nystagmus , no positional nystagmus , bithermal test abnormalities in 1 case. Conclusions 1 . Eye movement function evaluation of peripheral vertigo diagnosis of little significance , but it helps to peripheral vertigo and central vertigo in the differential diagnosis . 2 different peripheral vertigo , VNG has different characteristic features. VNG peripheral vertigo in the differential diagnosis of significant value .
