21st century, the traditional instructional design method based on atomistic complex learning decomposition to indecomposable pieces , leading to difficulties learning box grid , debris and knowledge transfer , is not well suited for complex cognitive skills training . Thus , in the field of teaching practice holistic instructional design the model --4C/ID model for complex cognitive skills training , caused by the model designed by the researchers from a new perspective on the traditional teaching critical thinking . The 4C/ID models simplifies the complex process of instructional design , the design simple , focused , attention skills analysis , reducing the load of the learner . The model based on support information , depending on the learning needs of the corresponding real-time information is flowing between the learner , knowledge , information and skills , is nonlinear, to help learners cognitive skills to solve complex problems . College English reading comprehension skills is a complex cognitive skills , focus and difficulty of college English teaching . Therefore, this study in 4C/ID model as a guide , combined with the ability level theory , the theory of syntactic structure , refine the theory to cultivate and improve students' English reading comprehension . First of all , according to the College English Syllabus and Language Structure English Reading Comprehension complex cognitive skills broken down into multiple levels of sub - skills group and application thought of 4C/ID models , design vocabulary of learners reading ability , language acquisition capacity , the training process of discourse structure analysis capabilities and comprehensive application ability ; accordance with the 4C/ID ten steps of the model , the detailed design of the culture of each sub - capacity implementation process and the corresponding strategies and support information , through the completion of the overall task under a series of sub-tasks and skills . Secondly, reading comprehension in English culture on the basis of the design , summarizes and design used in college English reading comprehension training mode , the model of three stages: pre- analysis stage , capacity-building in the design phase and testing and evaluation stage and describes the macro -and micro- mode application , to provide a new method of College English Reading comprehension Ability .
