Fault tree analysis(FTA), an important method in system reliability analysis, It was widely used in industry domain such as astronautics, nuclear energy, electronics, machine, electric power, chemical engineering, and industry etc. The fault tree analysis method is a means that evaluating the system reliability and safeties, using to predict and examine the faults, analyzing the weak parts of system, guiding to circulate and maintain, and the optimaization design of system. However, along with the increase of system complexity and the increase of system components, the research of system reliability depending on handworks has already become very difficult. so we should compose some program to analysis the system by the aid of computer. this thesis will do a lot of research on those questions.This article aim to the object-oriented technology of programming, it develop this mutual software of FTA based on VB 6.0.And this software based on the conception of delamination, it transfers the informations of these events while building the fault-tree. And when we constructing the fault-tree, we adopt pointer style to realize the transfers the informations of these events, the foundation theories of reliability analysis have been expounded in detail in this article. The basic method and theories of fault-tree analysis have also studied in this article. this software used algorithm based on the Semanders, then carried on prime number method, that was easy to be implemented in computer. The thesis completes the basic function such as qualitative-analysis and quantified-analysis, and in quantified-analysis, this paper expound the top event probability, we discuss if the under events have known the life distributed, this software has completed the visualize and mutual operation and has many merits such as having complete functions, having good feedbacks. At last we give a example based on this software to explain it.Based on the study of these theory, this thesis successfully developed a computer aided FTA software by used VB and ACCESS database, this software was designed under the rule of this paper designs, And it has ability to meet the demand of large-scale FTA. Some of illustrate examples analyzed and compare with human analyzed proved that the software have scientific and efficient. What’s more take an complex example to proved usability.
