Regeneration of injured nerve, whatever CNS or PNS, is still complicate and unsolved problem. Although the regeneration occur in injured PNS, the prognosis is unpredictable. In spite of the aborative surgery reconstruct the continuity of PNS, the final results of the patients are uncertainty. The discovery of NGF brings out the brightness in the uncovering the mystery of nerve regeneration. However, the ceasing of neurite growth could not be explained by a lack of trophic factors or growth-promoting substrates in observation of culture in vitro. Recently, the inhibitors, NI 35/250 were isolation from the myelin of oligodendrocyte in CNS. Schwann cell is a gliocyte and abundantly exists in PNS. Whether there is inhibitory substance in PNS which is similar one found in CNS or not, or there is a substance different from the one in CNS. This study was focus on the new inhibitory substance in the peripheral nerve of newborn cattle. Objective: To find the substance which has the negative effect on cultured DRG in vitro. Material and methods: The
