Design evaluation means to estimate the value of design. It closely related with many complicated factors, such as usability, technology, economics, aesthetics, culture and ecology, and with considerable difficult of operation and unsureness in methods. In the context of“exchange economy”, to do the research work of design evaluation from the view point of the“commercial product design”would grasp the essence of design and the spirit of time more profoundly, and also be the guidance in practical product and service design evaluation of enterprises.The paper focus on the study of conception and institution levels of design evaluation in commercial product. The conception level indicates the attitude and thinking of people undertaking the design evaluation. The logic in the study is from research on the“object”of commercial product to aware the benefit relations of people in the“affair”of exchange; to recognize the“rules of affair”of the exchange of commercial products demonstrate the direction and aim of“commercial product design”and consequently establish the“win together”conception of multi-benefits of“consume agent”,“enterprise agent”,“society agent”and“ecological agent”.The institution level indicates the contents of design management and evaluation system, such as the criteria, process, organization and methods of design evaluation, which are the precondition of implement to the aim of“win together”. Firstly, the author bring forward the principle of“seeking fitness from facts”based on the investigation on a great deal cases study of practical design evaluation and deep research of design theory considering the conception of“win together”realistically, objectively and dialectically. Afterwards, establish the“target system”of design evaluation in commercial product by dint of the thought way of“Affairology of design”which bringing the complex factors into a systematic theoretic model, and accordingly translate the principle of“seeking fitness from facts”into maneuverability approach. Founding on sufficiently understand the complexity of people, variety of objects and alternate of environment, we can confirm themulti-levels of evaluate target, choose or construct the fitable institution contents of criteria, process, organization and methods in design evaluation. Finally, the author tries to apply the theory to establish an evaluation system of styling design for certain company, hope to promote the efficient implement of design strategy and sustainable development of enterprises.
