With the rapid development of university doctoral programs, the rational allocation of resources for doctoral become a topic of common concern. Doctoral research, and there are focused on the quality of doctoral education doctoral explore institutional issues, their suggestions can not guide practical action from the micro-level, the allocation of resources from an efficiency point of view to study doctoral seem is very important. The input-output efficiency of doctoral studies, can effectively provide direction and basis for the construction of university doctoral. Based on the input and output characteristics of university doctoral establish the inputs and outputs of university doctoral evaluation index system, and the use of data envelopment analysis (DEA) method, 29 in China directly under the Ministry of Education, 985 doctoral efficiency evaluation given input redundancy out of the non-DEA effective university doctoral indicators and outputs an insufficient amount. Through a combination of indicators and computational efficiency of different combinations, found DEA effective colleges and universities in the three portfolio maintained a higher efficiency value, in the middle of the state colleges and universities, there is some combination of high efficiency values, some combination of efficiency low value, in a non-DEA effective colleges and universities in some combination of higher efficiency value.
