Since reform and opening, the publishing industry of our country developed rapidly. At present, China is in the transitional period that traditional publishing and digital publishing combined, crossed and promoted with each other. Besides rapid increasing rate in the traditional industries represented as books, newspapers and periodicals, the new publishing industry represented as online games, digital publishing, mobile publishing is developing at an alarming rate.In 2009, the total output of our country’s press and publication industry was 1.06689 trillion Yuan. The press and publication industry in 2010 accounted for the increase in value for over 60%, investment and financing system reform has achieved a major breakthrough, 45 news business succeeded in Listing, the total market capitalization has reached 570 billion Yuan. Central South Media is one listed publishing enterprise attached with Hunan Publishing Group. In 2010, Hunan Publishing Group regarded the list as an opportunity, and innovates as the driving force to make a historic harvest.Based on the scientific understanding of the concept of core competence, nature, properties, characteristics of the basic theory of knowledge, this thesis explores the core competitiveness of publication constitutes through the combination of normative analysis, empirical analysis, qualitative analysis, and the methods of integration of communication, management, and economics. On the basis, create the model core for evaluating competitiveness of enterprises. The publishing company’s core competitiveness index is divided into four first level indicators and sixteen secondary indicators which include production capacity, management integration, marketing capabilities, corporate culture and brand cohesion. In addition, through the use of network survey, the level of analysis and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and the core competitiveness of enterprises and the publication of evaluation model, this thesis gives the empirical evaluation and analysis. At last, according to the tendency and situations of the global publication and Hunan Publishing Group, give the measures and suggestions for enhancing the core competitiveness of Hunan Publishing Group, and look forward to providing referenced suggestions for the scientific development for the domestic publishing industry.
