The Research on Process and Strategy in Primary School English Instructional Design

Recently, with the development of new curriculum reform, English teaching in primary school has made a great progress in both theory and practice. In the meanwhile, we should be aware of the fact that there are still some problems regarding to English teaching needed to be addressed, such as putting the theory in the new curriculum reform into practice, helping students master the basic English knowledge and the ability of utilizing the language in communicative context. Every teacher should be concerned with and participate actively to resolve these problems.This study is based on the theory of instructional design combining with the teaching cases in primary school, so as to figure out the way to design a instructional design which can be used for references. It aims at providing the fundamental theories and guidelines for lesson planning.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part provides an introduction to the study, including the background of the study, the current research, the value and method of the research. The second part examines the related theories involved in primary school English instructional design. It introduces the concept and characteristic of primary school teaching design as well as the updated conceptions of primary school English instructional design according to the new curriculum reform. The third part focuses on the primary English instructional design process, including theoretical research and case analysis. The fourth part discusses the researches on the primary English teaching design strategies, including theoretical research and case analysis.
