Acceleration of the speed of trains makes a higher demand of their driving safety and automation in motion. To establish the dynamic supervision system is an effective way to make sure the safe and reliable railway transportation. Moreover, it is also the basis for systematic dispatching and scientific command. Additionally, it is of great importance for fully bringing out the potentialities of railway transportation and increasing carrying capacity so as to relieve the pressure due to economic development.On the basis of analyzing the situation of railway construction and demand of transportation, this paper presents a method to realize the dynamic control of trains in motion. It is realized first by the aid of radio transmission network and GPS. Second, it is realized by establishing information transmission platform to transmit information of trains’movement, breakdown and other parameters. The above information can be directly transmitted through remote mobile communication technology to ground monitoring and controlling centers and the centers can also give dispatching instruction and early-warning order according to the above information to the trains in motion. There are two parts in the dynamic supervision system. One is locomotive subsystem terminal and the other is dispatching command software in ground monitoring and controlling centers.Locomotive subsystem adopts ARM7 series embedded microprocessor technology and constructs data-share communication platform based on double CAN Bus redundance mode. Distributed control system embodies the concept of decentralized operation and centralized control. This system is equipped with software and hardware to realize several functions, such as collecting and recording of locomotive information, controlling of automatic passing phase insulator, automatic change dump, and display and early-warning of important information.Monitoring and controlling centers software subsystem adopts the website structure of B/S model, and takes Oracle database as the background server database. To compile a great of VBScript and JavaScript is to realize basic function of website based on ASP.NET. To compile the software with VC++ language is to receive and process GPRS information. ArcGIS software is used as development tool of electronic map. ArcIMS software of WebGIS is used as network map publishing platform.In order to meet the requirements of the locomotive position precision and real-time of the system, this paper synthetically studies and summarizes the development of locomotive position fixing technology at home and abroad. Moreover, it proposes the method of railway track miles marker position fixing based on GPS and can also be used as the accumulation of driving miles.The research results of this paper will be tested and popularized in Shuohuang Railway Company.
