The development of the interaction and the application of the imidazopyridine are summary in this paper,it involved inter-action modes, research methods and research techniques bet-ween the complex and DNA,the development direction and prospects were also expatiated.2,6-bis(iminazole[4,5-b]pyridine-2’-y1)pyridine was synth-esized in microwave way by2,6-pyridine dicarboxylic acid and2,3-Diaminopyridine,the overall yield is50%and the irradiation time is only9min.It never saw any report about this complex,it is a new organic complex. The method provides a simple access to the title compound. The method has a characteristic of low energy consumptions and environmental protection. The four complexes of copper(II), zinc(II),nickel(II) and c-obalt(II) with2,6-bis(iminazole[4,5-b]pyridine-2’-yl)pyridine were synthesized in the conventional condition, the single crystal of copper(II) was successful cultured and measured. The general chemical formulas is [Cu3L3H2O](NO3)2·3H2O.It have three mental center, three ligands and three Cu2+ions give a U-shaped structure. The plane of the third ligand is perpendicular to that plane of another two ligands. The others are characterized by infrared spectroscopy,UV,NMR,elemental analyses, molar cond-uctivity,TG-DSC.The date of infrared spectroscopy,UV spectr-um prove that the complexhave been synthesized successfully. In our experiment,we use UV absorption and viscosity measurements to study the interaction between complexes(or ligand) and DNA.The absorbance of the complexes and ligand all decrease, and the emission intensity also increase, but with the increasing of DNA concentration, there are not red shifted in the wavelength. The date of viscosity measurements reveal that the relative viscosity don’t increased obviously with the increasing complex, except the ligand. All this results of these measurements reveal that the presence of ligand has obvious effect on the rela-tive viscosity of DNA.So we can inclue that it’s more stronger interation between the DNA and ligand than the complex.
