Capillary electrophoresis has the advantage of rapidity, high separation efficiency, low cost and the most important, long longevity, easy to elute of the capillary column and to achieve automatization, is one of the most often studied research field of analytical chemistry. After reviewed the fundamentals and trends of the development of capillary electrophoresis, non-aqueous capillary electrophoresis and on-line preconcentration methods in capillary electrophoresis, a series of analytical method was developed to determine flavonoids by capillary electrophoresis. The contents and results were sunmmarized and presented as follows:1.A method of determination of kaempferol, apigenin, luteolin, quercetin and rutin by β-cyclodextrin modified capillary zone electrophoresis was developed. The sample can be ananlyzed in about8min.2.Electrokinetic supercharging (EKS) was used for capillary electrophoresis to enhance the sensitivity of flavoids. Under these conditions the sensitivity was enhanced between542to2826times when compared to a normal hydrodynamic injection.3.Electrokinetic supercharging (EKS) was used for non-aqueous capillary electrophoresis to enhance the sensitivity of phenolic acids. Under the optimum conditions the sensitivity was enhanced between3868to6480times when compared to a normal hydrodynamic injection.
