Fuzhou located in the Fuzhou plain near the southeast coast of China, it’s a famous historical and cultural city which has a history of over 2,200 years, provisional capital of both the end of Southern Song Dynasty and Late Qing Dynasty, the commercial port of the "Marine silk road", a pearl on the west coast Pacific ocean, also one of the earliest opened treaty ports. After the opium war, Fuzhou was opened, the western missionaries arrived one after another, church school arises at the historic moment. The early church schools are always religious accessories, tools and methods of western nations’ invasions on China’s cultural. But Fuzhou early church schools’establishment has also given Fuzhou educational cause’s modernization a solid foundation, has epoch-making significance on educational history and Sino-foreign cultural exchanges in Fuzhou. Fuzhou early church schools also for these reasons attract attentions of many scholars. This paper with the methods of documentary analysis, history analysis, makes deep research on Fuzhou early church schools from the perspective of pedagogy history, and theology. Through the analysis of Fuzhou early church schools’ produced reason and background of history, recreating the church school first bud and the development course, summarizing the characteristic in running the early church school, showing it’s different educational characteristic, which includes educational policy, curriculum setting, teacher and student’s situation, management system, and so on, and analyzing its effects and limitations. Using the experience of history, expect to play a certain heuristic role for Fuzhou contemporary educational study throw the research for Fuzhou early church school.
