Research on the Construction of Electric Power Data Communication Network in Chengde

Nowadays, power grid technology and electric power communication technology are growing more and more rapidly. The conventional transmission mode using a dedicated channel for each business system is difficult to fully meet the needs of business development in power communication system. In order to meet the needs of power grid development for information transmission, it is of great importance to build a strong network for electric power data communication. And improving network reliability and business support capacity has become the major task of developing electric power data communication networks.This thesis summarizes the domestic and international research status of the electric power data communication network, with particular attention to the networking technology used in the electric power data communication network in Chengde. The overall design of the data network is completed based on the existing network situation and the service demand in the future, including research on the network system of the data network, design of the network topology, selection of routing protocols, design of the link and bandwidth, design of the virtual private network with multiple protocol label switching and design of the network security. In the implementation of the project, the selected router software configuration is conducted, and a platform is built up for testing the performance of the router such as quality of service assurance, packet forwarding delay, packet loss rate, and the the performance of routing protocol, the security and interoperability of actual the network. The test results have showed that the performance of the router and the interoperability of the network protocols satisfy the requirement of the network. To solve the problem of data service interuption appeared in several nodes intermittently, the business access scheme is improved by using fiber modems in the network. Good availability and practicality of the network have been demonstrated. With the completion of the electric power data communication network in Chengde, the original real-time and non real-time data services transmitted by the traditional dedicated channel have been transfered to high-speed channels. The data network is now playing a very important part in the informatization construction of Chengde electric power company.
